Mother's Day

Mother's day was perfect this year.  Saturday I spent the morning with a few of the Liljenquist women and Craig at breakfast and then we went to my family Saturday evening to celebrate together.  I feel really lucky to be surrounded by such incredible women who all inspire me to be better.
Sunday morning I woke up to Kneaders French toast and strawberries for breakfast and gifts.  After church we had homemade hamburgers and corn on the cob.  I begged Kyle to make that for dinner for me and it was SO yummy.  He was kind of surprised when I kept telling him thats what I wanted but when he finally agreed to do it I was over the moon excited.  I'm so glad that I have the opportunity to be a Mom. Growing up its what I always wanted to be.  I'm extremely grateful to Kyle who works so hard so that I can be a stay at home mom.  I really couldn't be able to do it if he wasn't 100% supportive of it.
Motherhood has its ups and downs and a lot of the time as I lay down to go to sleep and think back on the day I feel like in some sort of way I have failed but then I remind myself that I tried my best and there's always another day to try again.  I give everything I have to these kids and then some even though sometimes I don't always feel like it they do love me unconditionally and despite my many down falls and mommy fails at the end of the day they love me and that makes being a Mommy totally worth it.

Bode and Quinn

Bode has started thinking that he is big enough to go and play just like his big siblings and gets very mad at me when I don't let him go play with all of them.  The other day Emma was on her way out to go play with her friend Zoey and Bode was throwing a huge fit and wanted to go play too.  I asked him if he wanted to go see if his little friend Quinn could come and play at his house.  He got so excited.  Bode had his very first official play date and they were just the cutest ever.  As soon as we got Quinn and got back to our house I gave them each a popsicle and then the disappeared.  I went looking for them and found them out in my back yard jumping on the tramp together.  It was so cute. I finally convinced them to come upstairs and filled up our water table for them where they played for a good 45 minutes.

The Amazing Race Date

I've said it a hundred times but we really lucked out when we moved into our neighborhood.  There are so many wonderful families.  One of our friends planned a big group date night of the Amazing Race.  We were divided into 4 teams and were sent on an Amazing Race challenge.  We began the night with challenges that would give us minute leads.  The first challenge was eating a jalapeƱo pepper the fastest.  Kyle stepped up to the challenge and won it! The next challenge was who could eat a donut the fastest and our team mate won that one too.  After we ate dinner and all of the challenges were complete we were handed our first clue and were out.  We were sent all of the city of Herriman doing crazy different challenges.  It was crazy, intense and so much fun!

Waffle Love

While Corbin is off track I try really hard to make a list of things he wants to do while he's off.  This time around I wasn't so great at it mostly because everything he wanted to do was stuff we do every time he's off track.  Except for this time he did want to go to Waffle Love.  It was his only one real request while he was off.  We went a grabbed a couple of waffles and then ate them on our front lawn.

Guys Golf Trip

In April Kyle was able to go on a golf weekend with a bunch of guys from our neighborhood. There were 16 of them and they golfed a total of 72 holes in 3 days.

The Hulk

Bode has taken on the nickname of the Hulk in our house.  He has quite a temper and has been quite mischievous over the last few weeks that I am having a hard time keeping up.  I thought Corbin and Emma were busy bodies but he puts both of them to shame.  In a weeks time he managed to dump half a gallon of milk on my kitchen floor, red gatorade on my carpet, and color with marker (luckily washable) all over my walls and himself.  That was just a few big "Hulk" moments that we had.  The rest consisted of dumping the toys out on a regular basis and spilling things or dumping food on the floor multiple times.  I sure love him but man does he make me tired!!

Hogle Zoo

We have been in the middle of Lacrosse season which means Kyle is gone A LOT!  Saturday morning we woke up and the kids were begging to go to the zoo.  Kyle doesn't really love the zoo and it takes a lot for him to be willing to go.  It helped the kids that he had been gone a lot and was willing to do anything for them.  We also bribed him with going to Tony Burgers after the zoo.  I love the zoo and I love taking my kids.  Even though we go quite a bit it never really gets old for me.  This time we decided to try the new train out.  We got to see both the male and female lions but that was about all that was great about the train.  Kyle and I were both pretty disappointed in the ride.  Any chance I get to spend the day doing something as a family is a really great day in my book!

Corbin Shaving

One beautiful Sunday morning we were all getting ready for church.  Corbin was in the shower, I was doing Emma's hair and Bode and Kyle were playing on the iPad.  All of a sudden we heard a crash from the bathroom.  It sounded like one of our razors had fallen.  We asked Corbin if he was ok and he replied he was.  A few seconds later he shouted, "Um.....I'm bleeding."  I went running in to see what had happened and he told me his lip was bleeding.  I got him out of the shower and immediately started trying to get the blood to stop.  I asked him what had happened and he just stared at me.  Kyle came in and took one look at him and asked him, "Did you try to shave?"  Corbin looked at him and tears started welling up in his eyes and said, "Yes."  Kyle and I burst out laughing.  We explained to him that he was way too young to be shaving but when he is old enough Daddy will teach him.  I could not stop laughing through it all.  It was so funny!  Poor little guy.

Blueberries

This is what happens when I leave Bode for a couple of minutes with a bowl full of blueberries. He decided to do somebody art with it.  Luckily for me he was at the counter and was already stripped down to his diaper.  He was very mad that I took them all away and was even more mad when I whipped out my phone to take pictures of him.

Easter

We had a very nice Easter morning. The kids woke up to their baskets and a small egg hunt around the house. We had breakfast and then watched General Conference.  The kids all got bubbles in their baskets so that kept them very entertained for most of conference.  After the afternoon session we went to Craig and Liz's house for a dessert get together.
