The Beginning

They have finally started construction on our new home in Herriman. We are so excited for this new beginning in our lives.

Emma-21 Months

Emma is now 21 months old.  I cannot believe that we are getting so close to her turning 2.  She is still the sweetest girl ever.  She has her "anger" moments where she will go and hit a wall or scream but still so sweet.  She loves her brother and loves to do anything he does.  She has become a little parrot in the fact that she will repeat anything we say.  She has wonderful manners and will say please when she wants something and when she gets something she will say "tank to".  She loves shoes and her new current obsession is bags.  She loves to bring my purse with her and carry it around.  She still loves baby dolls and stuffed animals.  She also has become quite a little dancer, due a lot to the daily dance parties that we have in our kitchen, and her favorite song is Call Me Maybe.  Her favorite thing to do is play the ipad.  The second she sees it she is coming at me with, "ipad please?"   We love this little girl of ours!

Winter in September

Our friends, the Ploharz, were over playing and the boys came out dressed in Corbin's snowpants and vests. They told us they were getting ready for the snow.  They started asking for gloves and hats and then the little kids wanted to join in with them.  And yes, Corbin is wearing his life jacket.

My Little Helper

I caught Emma trying to help out by doing the dishes. Such a little sweetie!

Last Swim

Last week we had our final swim for the summer.  Our friends, the Bailey's, have been so kind to let us come and use their pool this summer and for the last swim we had a fun little party with a few of the kids from the neighborhood.  I am so proud of both my kids in the swimming pool this year. Corbin has improved so much this summer. He swam the majority of the time without his float and he also figured out how to float on his back. Once he figured out how easy it was he wanted to keep doing it.  Emma loves to sit on the stairs and kick her legs out.  She loved swimming with Kyle and  blow bubbles and kick her legs.

Corbin also has a little friend, Preston, who is a Utes fan.  Preston's mom, Janie, loves to give Corbin a hard time for being a cougar fan and loves to tease him about becoming a Utes fan. Corbin tells her all the time that he hates the Utes and she just laughs. We took advantage of them both being there to take pictures of them in their opposing hats.

Our Monthly Date-Catch Up

I thought when I gave Kyle a planned date every month for the year for Christmas that it would be so easy to do but boy life sure proved me wrong. With our life being changed by Kyle's new job and his commute to Provo everyday and our super busy summer the dates just didn't happen.  So we decided to play catch up and do the dates that we missed out on so we can finish the year on a good note.

The first was go to the park and play our favorite card game.  We ended up revising this one a little bit and one evening after the kids went to bed Kyle went and got us shakes and we played our favorite card game, Five Crowns.  We played twice and I beat Kyle both times!  That never happens so I was pretty proud of myself!

Our other date we were going to go do a round of golf but due to the end of summer and days getting shorter and Kyle having a 3 hour commute everyday we realized that the chances of us being able to go and play a round were pretty slim so we decided to change it a little and we went and hit a bucket of balls together.

Movie & a Picnic

I love picnics but to be quite honest I hate the heat.  One day I was really wanting to have a picnic but it was close to 100 degrees so instead I decided to do it inside and watch a movie with my kids and it became something that we ended up doing once a week throughout the summer.

BYU Football Game

A few months ago I came upon a super great deal for the Kid Cougar Club so Kyle and I decided to do it for Corbin.  Included he gets 4 tickets to football games and 8 tickets to basketball games.  Corbin was so generous to use all 4 tickets for a football game so we could go as family to a game.  We went on Saturday to the Weber State vs BYU game.  We decided to make a day of it and stop by to see where Kyle works.  We saw the building that he works on and were able to go in the trailer and see his desk.  I'm sure the kids didn't really care but I really enjoyed being able to see where Kyle spends his days.  Corbin was so excited to try on Daddy's vest and hard hat and of course whatever Corbin does, Emma does.  After a quick lunch it was on to the football stadium.  We were able to see the players coming off the field and got to give them high fives.  The game was so much fun.  Kyle and I were so surprised at how well our kids did during the game especially since it was in the middle of nap time.  Because Corbin is part of the Kids club we found out that after the game we would be able to go on the field and take pictures.  Corbin was slightly disappointed that Cosmo wasn't there but it was pretty cool to be able to go on the field.  By the end of the day we were all exhausted but we all had such a great time as a family!
