Clean Babies

Hanging out after baths. I love when my kids are straight out of the bath clean.

More Painting Fun

Corbin got a make your own tool box kit from the Safe Kids fair that he built with his Daddy and decided that he wanted to paint it. So I set him all up. Covered the table, and gave him some paints. I put Emma up at the table as well but I was hoping to just get away with just giving her some crayons and markers but of course she would have none of that. She HAS to do everything that Corbin is doing so I gave in and stripped her down and gave her paints. She loves it so much! Corbin's tool box turned out really cool after he was done and he was so impressed with doing it all by himself!

Bed Time?

After saying prayers and singing Emma a song I had just lied Emma down for bed when all of a sudden she started freaking out. Crying like she had been hurt. In a panic I picked her up and tried to get her to calm down. She kept pointing out into the kitchen where Corbin and Kyle were standing talking and I kept trying to tell her, "No. It's time for bed." Just then I realized that just as I was laying her down Kyle said the word, "Cookie" and that's when she started freaking out. So I asked her if she was wanting and cookie and she immediately got a smile on her face and said yes. So I brought her out and gave he some teddy grahams and she was so excited. I let her have a few and then told her we were finished and put her back in her bed and she went without any fits and went right to sleep. Apparently she is just like her Mommy, when she hears the word cookie she just HAS to have one!

Safe Kids Fair

On Saturday was the Ogden Safe Kids Fair. Kyle and Corbin went at 8:00 am to wait in line to get one of the free helmets. Unfortuantely Kyle couldn't stay for the whole fair because he had to go ref lacrosse in Salt Lake but he was so kind to go wait in line for us. My friend Julie, and her boys joined us. Collin was able to get a helmet as well and the boys just loved wearing them around. I think the favorite part, besides getting helmets, was being able to sit on a motorcycle.

Writing

Corbin's writing has exploded the last few weeks. It's like something clicked in his head and he just loves to sit and write. It's been fun watching him and helping him.

Art Time-Painting

I've trying to be better at doing projects with my kids so yesterday I went out and bought some butcher paper to protect my table and brought out the paints. Corbin loves painting and has been wanting to paint for a while. This was Emma's first time with paint but once she figured out what to do with it she went crazy, as you can tell in the pictures. It was a fun little project to keep all of us entertained.

Emma's art.

Corbin's art. The orange thing is his "mignon" like on Despicable Me.

Our Monthly Date #3-Revised

Because of our crazy month of March and the need to cancel due to Kyle's visit to the emergency room we were unable to go on our date for the month of March. The last few weeks have been a very stressful time for us so I decided to revise our March date and do a getaway for Kyle and I. A chance to destress a little. We went to dinner at the Gateway, did a little shopping and saw a movie. Saturday morning we went and explored City Creek. It exactly what Kyle and I needed. To be able to get away for a night and just be together. I great revision to our monthly dates.

Easter Weekend

We had a great Easter weekend. It started on Saturday morning when the Easter bunny made a visit to our house. We asked the Easter bunny if he could come to our house on Saturday so that we can focus on the real meaning of Easter on Sunday. The kids got swivel cars and other little things in their baskets. Corbin got an egg full of super heros (which is is very big on right now!) and Emma got an egg with a baby doll dressed as a monkey which she has loved. That morning we also went to an Easter Egg Hunt in our neighborhood. The kids had so much fun. Corbin jumped right in while Emma was a little unsure of what was going on until she discovered what was in the eggs and than she was all about it. After naps we dyed eggs and than had fun playing out on our new swivel cars.

On Sunday morning during breakfast we talked about Jesus Christ and his last days. It was such a great experience to sit together as a family and talk about Christ and all that he did for us. Corbin loved opening each egg and talking about what was in each egg. After church we went to Jodi's for dinner and had a little egg hunt for the kids.
