2 Wheeler

Around November, December time Emma started telling us that she wanted her training wheels off.  We kept telling her that we would do it but kept forgetting.  While Corbin was off track in January Emma asked again and Corbin told her he would do it so they went down together and took off her training wheels.  A couple weeks later Emma came running upstairs and told us that she had learned how to ride her bike without training wheels.  We ran down and come to find out that she, with Corbin's help, had figured out how to ride her bike.  I was really blown away.  Because of this crazy warm weather we've been having I decided to take her down to some flat ground, because we live on a hill, and see how she does.  We borrowed our friends bike that's more her size and she jumped on it and rode off.  She's still a little wobbly but she's figured out how to turn and is starting to get faster.  I am so unbelievably happy and proud of her!

Fancy Valentine's Dinner

Because we spent the day skiing on Valentine's Day we didn't really have the energy to make our fancy dinner that night so we decided we would do it on Sunday.  For dessert we did our normal fondue which the kids just love.

Valentine's Day-Skiing

Since Valentine's Day was on a Saturday this year we decided to take our 2 older kids skiing for the day.  Emma had been begging all season to get to go skiing so she was very excited to go for her very first time.  She did really well.  It took us most of the morning to figure how to communicate with Emma so she would understand what she needed to do and by lunch she was done and told us she was not having any fun!  We told her on her drive up that that was rule #1 while we ski was to always have fun.  So we spent lunch trying to take her mind off of it and get her laughing and then went back out.  After lunch something clicked and she was starting to get the idea of turning.  We were so proud of her.  Corbin of course worked on improving his turns and coming more out of the snow plow.  I have was so impressed with both of the kids.  They really did such a good job.  Bode was able to spend the day with Grandpa and Grandma Liz.  When we picked him up on our drive home Emma finally crashed in the car.  Bode kept trying to talk to her but we just kept telling him that she was sleeping.  I turned around to check on what was going on and Bode had reached over and had grabbed Emma's hand while she was sleeping and was holding it.
Skiing takes a lot of us so we ended up just getting heart pizza and watching a movie as a family.  We talked a lot at the table about why we love each other and had to say one thing that we love about each of the members of our family.  I sure am grateful for my little family and love each of them so much that it really makes my heart just swell with happiness!

Guy's Day

For Christmas this year we decided to give Mom and Dad Parrish our "time" and planned 2 outings with each of them.  The boys gave Dad a gift to the Solomon Center in Ogden where they were able to do the I-Fly, the I-Rock and the Flowrider.  They all said that they had a great time and a few of them got battle wounds from the Flowrider.

Sushi night

A couple weekends ago some friends invited a few of us over to attempt to make our own sushi.  It was really fun and not as hard as I thought it would be and it was really yummy although I'll leave the sushi making up to the professionals.  We don't really know what fish goes well with what.

Jazz Game

As part of playing Jr. Jazz they give the boys tickets to go to a Jazz game. All the boys and their Dads went a few weeks ago. One of the Dads has awesome connections and was able to move them from the very top of the upper bowl to the lower bowl and was even able to get them on the court after the game.  Jazz lost of course but they all had a great time!  Corbin was even able to get up on the jumbo tron.

Basketball

Corbin had a great basketball season this year.  The boys seemed to get a lot more of the rules and the games were really fun to watch and his team went undefeated this season.

Bode's First Hair Cut

A few Sunday's ago we decided it was time to give Bode a quick trim up. His sides were starting to get crazy and his top was super uneven. He was starting to look like he had a comb over going on.  It really wasn't much and most people wouldn't even be able to tell but I think it looked so much better when he was done.  I thought maybe he would cry through it but he watched Corbin do it before him and he was so good to just sit on the counter and watch himself.  He even gave himself knuckles in the mirror when he was done.

Bode

A few things I want to remember about Bode at this age:

*He is so independent and fights us on anything that we try to do for him.
*He is starting to talk A LOT!  Most of it is just jabbering but he sure seems to have a lot to say and likes to voice his opinion frequently.
*He loves Elsa and does a little happy dance whenever he hears a song from Frozen or even if he sees the movie box.
*I hear "Where's Emma?" at least 20 times while she is at preschool on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
*I love when he says, "What the...."  It just makes me smile.
*When he burps he'll cover his mouth and whisper "scuse me" and then laugh hysterically.
*He refuses to sit in any kind of confining thing.  So no more high chairs or booster seats and now is currently fighting me on sitting in the seat of a shopping cart.  If I can distract him right after I put him in he's fine but if not he fights it for quite awhile.
*He thinks that he is just as big as his older siblings and can do everything they can do.  We have shed many many tears when they leave and he can't go play with them.
*He is a sweet boy and loves to give people hugs when they come to play and will give anything he's playing with lots of kisses!
*He is very into puzzles right now and will sit and play them for awhile.
*He now loves to go to nursery.  A few weeks ago we left right after sacrament meeting and he was so mad that we walked right past his nursery room and wouldn't let him go in.

We sure love this little boy and couldn't imagine our family without him!
