By Corbin

Corbin has taken quite a liking to cameras lately. The other day I decided to show him a little bit how a camera works and let him take some pictures of Emma. He did a really good job and I was really impressed with some of his pictures that he took. Maybe we will be asking Santa for a camera this year. These pictures are all the ones that he took once he figured out how to put people in the square and keep his fingers out of the way of the view finder.

When I took the camera and told him I wanted to get some pictures of him he ran and hid.

"DO NOT TAKE A PICTURE OF ME!"

Water Play

One of Corbin's new favorite things to do is to have me fill up our kitchen sink with water and play in it. I let him use any of the "safe" kitchen utensils, meaning our measuring cups, whisks, wooden spoons, ice cream scoop, etc. He will stand there and measure and dump for a while. Sometimes we add a little soap and he will pretend to wash my dishes for me. Who would have thought that something as simple as water in our kitchen sink could provide hours of fun with very little clean up.

Last Days of Summer

With summer coming to a close we have been trying to take advantage of every last ounce of daylight. Thursday we played outside in our backyard all evening.

Emma's new thing, blowing kisses!

She is not a big fan of the grass. She will sit in it but when it comes to crawling she really does not care for it at all.

9 Months Old

Yesterday Emma turned 9 months old. Why does time have to go so fast? Emma is the sweetest baby and is such a mild tempered child. She is very easy going. She loves to give kisses and is a huge cuddler. She loves Corbin and now that she is a crawling machine she loves following him around and into his room and now they will go and play together which is pretty sweet to listen to. She is still army crawling but is starting to do a little bit of the hands and knees crawling. She also loves to eat. Just like her Mama I guess. Although she is not too keen on baby food. She would rather eat something that I've chopped up into little pieces that she can pick up on her own.

She is such a cheeseball. When we tell her "cheese" she does this:

Just like Corbin, Emma's 2 teeth next to her center ones came in first before her center ones came in. They have come in quite well so now when she smiles just right she looks like a vampire.

Emma LOVES her stuffed pink kitty. She gets so excited when she sees it and she loves to give it kisses.

We love you Emma!

Bear Lake Weekend

Because Kyle was unable to come to any of the 2nd week of our turn at the Bear Lake cabin we decided that we would go up for a long weekend. We left Thursday after Kyle got off work and headed up there. We had a fabulous weekend. The weather was perfect. Corbin went on the tube a bunch of times and Emma also got her first ride on the tube. Corbin also went on the knee board behind the boat. Kyle skied and I once again attempted to ski. I got close a couple of times to getting up but was unsuccessful. I still had fun trying though. We are so glad that Heidi and her family could join us. Cam and his family came up but unfortunately Cam had something come up at work so they had to leave on Friday but we are still glad that they came up for a little while.

Preschool

Today Corbin started Preschool! He has been so excited to go to preschool. When I went to drop him off all the way there he kept telling me that he was going to walk up to the door all by himself and that he doesn't need me to walk with him. Well, I sort of ignored him and let him walk in but I walked a few feet behind just to make sure.
He loved preschool and had so much to tell me when I picked him up. I think that this is going to be really good for him!

Stuck

I layed Emma down for a nap today and being hopeful that she had fallen asleep so that I could also take a nap I stuck my head in to check on her and discovered that she had somehow managed to get both her legs stuck in the crib rails. She wasn't upset about or anything but just hanging out.

*I did get her legs unstuck after I took the pictures.

Boondocks

This year the annual Liljenquist Family Christmas party was not at Christmas but instead the family in charge decided to do it during the summer and it was last weekend. This year we went to Boondocks in Draper. We had such a great time. Corbin was just barely tall enough to be able to ride in the go carts with Kyle and he had such a great time doing that. We also went mini golfing with Kyle's brothers, their spouses and their boys. It was extremely entertaining to watch the brothers help their little boys play. At the end we played in the arcade and got over 800 tickets which we turned in for a bunch of prizes for the kids. We had such a great time!
