Sunday Naps

These moments never EVER happen so you definitely take advantage when they do.

Aggie Bus Ride

After we went to baby animal days and lunch at chick-fil-a we went up and rode on an Aggie Shuttle that Uncle Jason drives. The kids had such a great time riding on it. It was funny to watch college students get on and look at all of the kids kind of funny but we had a blast!  We are so glad that we finally got a chance to come up and ride Jason's shuttle.

Emma & Beckett

We babysat Beckett the other day and him and Emma were so cute playing in their dress ups. Emma kept asking Beckett to wear a princess dress with her and he would look at her and say, "No way! Those are for girls!"

Waiting

I was unable to get a sitter for the kiddies during my doctor appointment last week so the kids came along with me. They were so good to just sit and play on the iPad while we waited and when we got home I had discovered that they had managed to take over 100 pictures on the camera. Here are a few of my favorite ones.

No Nap - Part 2

This little girl has me so confused!  She tells me everyday no nap and most days she is ok but this day she was acting tired and so I tried to lay her down but she fought me the whole time so maybe I was just being crazy.  She was dancing and singing all afternoon.  I sat down to pay a bill on the iPad and looked over to see where Emma was and this is how I found her.  I had literally been doing my thing for 2 minutes and we had just had a conversation right as I sat down.  She was so out of it that she didn't even wake up when I moved her over to the couch.

Baby Animal Days

Last week we braved the storm and headed up to baby animal days up in Logan with my parents and my brother and sister in law and their family.  My kids were so excited to go and spend the day with their cousins and see all of the baby animal days.  Corbin remembered it from last year but Emma did not.  Corbin jumped right in to holding the animals and petting them.  Emma was handed a baby duck and she gladly opened her hand to it.  The second it touched her hand she freaked out and did not like touching any of the animals after that point.  We got her touch the bunnies and the baby chicks but it was like pulling teeth to get her to do it.  She did however hold a baby turtle and she loved it and that's the one thing she talks about from the whole day.  Corbin told me his favorite was the bunny and asked if we could take one home with us.  After we saw all the animals we jumped into the line for the pony ride.  I wondered if Emma would freak but she was really excited and stood in line the whole time with all the kids.  Corbin had been looking forward to the pony ride the whole time.  We got the kids helmets on and walked up to the ponies.  I picked Emma up and placed her on the pony and there were instant tears and screaming.  I gave her a hug and said that I would stay right by her but she was going to ride the pony.  The ride started and I walked right by her.  There were times that I thought I saw a smile come out of her but then the tears would start back up again.  I'm pretty sure I traumatized her, which I do feel bad about, but I wanted her to know there was nothing to be afraid of.  After I got Emma off and handed her to my Dad I went and got Corbin and he had the biggest smile on his face and asked if he could ride it again right then.  He loves pony rides and tells me all the time that he wants to go horseback riding.  We then took the kids over to ride on the train.  Corbin was so excited to ride in the caboose with his cousins and they laughed and screamed the whole time.  Emma on the other hand wanted nothing to do with me and was mad that I even thought about putting her on the train so she sat and cuddled Uncle John through the whole ride.  I felt so bad that she didn't even want me.  After the train I took Emma and apologized for making her sad but it was fun and I didn't want her to miss any of it because she was a little scared.  She took my cheeks and said, "That's ok Mom.  I love you so much."  And we were good after that.

After baby animals we took the kids to lunch at chick-fil-a and let them play till it was time to go and catch Jason's shuttle which the kids LOVED and did not want to get off of.

This is the picture I took with my phone and sent to Kyle right before the ride started.

No Nap!

Lately Emma has really been fighting me on nap time.  Usually I just let her go, mostly because Corbin is up anyway.  Everyday I ask her if she wants to take a nap and most of the time she will tell me no.  Today was no exception.  Her and Corbin were running around playing when I asked her and she quickly told me no.  Next thing I knew she was curled up next to me sleeping.  It had only been about 10 minutes since I had asked her so apparently she really did need one.  At least I got some good cuddle time from my little girl!

Easter Sunday Dress

Easter Weekend

We had a beautiful Easter weekend.  It started out on Saturday morning when the kids woke up to their Easter baskets filled with a kite for each of them, some books, some candy and a golden egg filled with money.  We then headed over to the Herriman City Egg Hunt that was being put on by the local fire station.  The kids were in 2 different age groups so we had to divide and conquer.  In Corbin's age group the parents weren't allowed to go past the lines so I had to send him in on his own and hope for the best.  Kyle was able to take Emma in but she was a little timid about the whole thing.  They both ended up with quite the loot from it.  Corbin came back with a whole bucket full of bubble gum which didn't surprise me in the least.  He is a huge fun of gum right now.  Emma got a bunch of suckers which she was thrilled about.  The rest of the day we spent running errands and ended up needing to run up to Ogden to fix a shingle on the house before it hopefully closes in the next couple of weeks.
On Sunday we woke up and had breakfast and listened to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's Music in the Spoken Word while we got ready for church.  I was all excited to get their kids in their Easter outfits and take their pictures before we went to church.  As I was finishing getting Emma ready she threw the biggest tantrum that she has ever thrown about not wanting to wear her cardigan with her dress.  I'm not sure what her deal was but it was quite the ordeal and it almost made us late for church.  Needless to say I was unable to take pictures before church and had to hope and pray that both of them would make it through Primary and Nursery in good condition so I could get some pictures after church.  Luckily they both did well and I could get my pictures.  After a little bit of quiet time we had our Easter Lesson.  The kids were so excited to open each egg.  We did this last year and I don't think either of them really understood but this year Corbin was very interested in what each thing meant and talking about Jesus Christ and the sacrifice he made for us.  He gets the words crucifixion and resurrection mixed up so when we talk about how we all will be resurrected he gets this huge concern on his face and tell us he doesn't want to be resurrected.  I ask him why not and he immediately tells me because he doesn't want nails in his hands and feet so we've had many conversations about the difference and that he will not be crucified like Jesus Christ was.  I loved the sweet little spirit that came into our  home during our lesson and the opportunity that Kyle and I had to share our testimonies with our kids about Jesus Christ.
