As we were preparing for the arrival of Tessa Corbin told Kyle and I that he wanted to be in the delivery room with us. I was shocked by his request and had to think really long and hard about what I wanted to do. I finally decided that there was too many factors that played into delivery that I could not have him in the room. I needed to be able to focus on myself and what I was needing to do and not worry about Corbin and if he was doing ok. So we made a compromise with him and told him that he could be outside the room and the second that they were able to come in and see her we would let him in. So as I got close to pushing we called my parents up to let them know to head to the hospital. The kids were able to stand right outside the door and my parents were able to capture the moment of them standing at the door listening for the first cries from their new baby sister. As soon as she was in my arms and we were covered Kyle brought them in to see her. We spent a few moments together and then Kyle took the kids out so I could try and nurse baby and then Kyle came back in so he could finally hold her for the first time. When we were ready to have her weighed and cleaned up we brought the kids back in to be a part of all of that and then once she was wiped down and wrapped back up they each got a turn to hold her. I was so glad that they were there right away and could be part of some of it.
