Newsies
For Christmas Kyle got me tickets for the Newsies. It was perfect night out after a crazy 2 weeks of birthdays and baptisms and a blessing. I love that we both share a love for theater and for musicals. Newsies was amazing!
Tessa's Blessing
As I mentioned before Corbin was so willing to share his special day with Tessa and as soon as he was confirmed the men all stayed standing and I brought Tessa up and Kyle gave her a name and a blessing. It was so perfect to have everybody that we loved already all together. While we were taking pictures before Kyle wanted a picture of the 2 of them in their white clothes. He realized during their orientation that morning that when Tessa turns 8 Corbin will be almost 18 and if she's wanting to wait he could maybe baptize her. It's kind of a cool thought to think about but than it makes me crazy emotional thinking that one day they will be 16 and 8 years old!
When I chose Emma's blessing dress I chose the same one that my Mom and I were both blessed in. I loved the meaning that it had. As I thought about what kind of dress I wanted for Tessa I really wanted her to have her own but I wanted it to have some meaning as well. I thought about using part of my wedding dress for it but when I looked at it I just couldn't bring myself to do it. As we looked at the dress Kyle saw my veil and brought up the idea of using that instead of my dress. I loved the idea. I asked my neighbor to help me make the dress and it turned out so perfect! I loved the simplicity of it but I also loved having a part of me in the dress as well. Now both my girls have dresses with some sort of personal touch to them.

Corbin's Baptism
Corbin made the choice to be baptized to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was also willing to share his special day with his little sister Tessa but that will get it's own post. We are so proud of Corbin's decision to be baptized. It was such a special day surrounded by family and friends. We did miss Grandpa and Grandma Liz but we are so proud of everything they are doing on their mission in Africa.
After everything settled down I asked Corbin how he felt and he smiled and said that he felt warm and really happy. During his confirmation Kyle talked a lot about recognizing the Holy Ghost and we explained to him that that is one way that the Holy Ghost can talk to him. My hope for him as he continues on this path that he will be able to recognize the spirit and that he will strive to use it daily.

Bode's 3rd Birthday
Bode turned 3 years old on June 8th. He is all boy and has the strongest personality all squeezed into this little boy. He is extremely opinionated about things and is extremely independent. He has given me a run for my money and has been one hard kid for me to parent sometimes but on the other hand he can be my most sweetest, best behaved and most affectionate child. It's either really good or really bad with him. But even on my hardest days with him he still makes me smile and laugh. We love Bode so much and can't imagine our family without him. We had so much fun celebrating him on his special day. We had chick-fil-a for dinner and he got to open his presents. He's currently obsessed with Paw Patrol, all things sports especially baseball and "his" friends.
Last Day of 2nd Grade
Corbin had his last day of 2nd grade on June 7th. For the last day our carpool decided to let them ride their scooters to school and back. The kids were all so excited heading there but when they got back they were not so thrilled because it was got and it was pretty much all up hill. But nothing a popsicle couldn't fix. This school year just flew by and Corbin has learned so much from his teacher Ms. Cummings.
Boys Birthday
With Corbin and Bode's birthdays being a week apart we invited grandparents out on Sunday evening to celebrate both of them at the same time. Corbin isn't big into birthday cake so he wanted donuts for dessert and Bode wanted orange ice cream so we made a donut cake and had orange ice cream with them.
