Monday we went to the Rocky Mountain National Park
and drove to the top visitor center. While there a bunch of the family walked about a bunch of stairs to the top of a mountain. The kids loved it and also loved that there was snow still up there. Bode stayed nice a toasty warm bundled up in Kyle's jacket. While we were driving down the mountain we were able to see a few elk on the side of the road.
On Tuesday we went to another visitor center where they had a little kid section of dress ups were they could dress up as a park ranger or as early settlers or Indians. After that we went over to Estes Lake for a picnic and some fishing but the weather ended up being really windy and crazy cold so a bunch of us ended up sitting in the car for part of the time. That evening after dinner we ended up going downtown and walking around. It was such a cute little town and we ended up buying some of the best salt water taffy I have ever had. It was so soft and so yummy! After we got back and got the kids in bed we found out that my parents basement had flooded so they decided that they were going to head home. We were all sad about them leaving but understood that they needed to be home.
