Merry Christmas!

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. It was slightly stressful in the fact that a few days after Christmas we were moving but it was fabulous none the less.  We started the festivites with the Parrish side on Christmas Eve where we had dinner and our traditional Christmas Program where every family performs.  This year Corbin picked us to sing Picture a Christmas from the Primary Book. We all brought our boxes of hay that we had been putting in for acts of service we did throughout the month of December to add to the manger my Mom has.  It is really fun to watch the kids get excited about putting their hay in and telling us a few things they did to earn the hay.  We then did our gift exchange.  This year my siblings, their spouses and I had been dropping a lot of hints that for Christmas this year we all wanted good luggage.  My brother, Brett had been packing his clothes and stuff when he would come down for an overnighter or to stay for a couple nights in a box because they don't have any duffle bags.  We were so excited when they brought our presents upstairs and it was luggage.  After gifts we took the kids in and gave them their Christmas jammies and headed home for the evening.

Christmas morning was quite an experience.  It all started around 1:30 in the morning when Corbin came into our room asking if it was time to open presents.  We told him no and to go back to bed.  He cried all the way back to his bed where I followed him and told him that it was way to early and that we will open presents in the morning.  He came in again at 2:00 asking if it was time.  At that point Kyle followed him back into his room and laid down with him for an hour where he did not fall back asleep.  Kyle came back in at 3:00 and had told Corbin that if he came out before the sun was up he would not be able to open presents.  The rest of the night I could hear him yell out, "Can I come out yet?"  I would tell him no and wouldn't hear anything after that.  Around 7:15 he came in and we told him that Emma wasn't up yet so he went back to his bed.  My parents called at 7:30 and after that I got up to let Corbin know that it was ok for him to come to Mommy and Daddy's room where he could wait for Emma to wake up but he had fallen back asleep.  Emma woke up so I left Corbin's door open but he was passed out.  It took us a while to get him to wake up but finally he did.  I really can't blame him for being excited but it made for a REALLY long night.  As we opened gifts I talked to Corbin about how he kept getting up in the night and he told me that he was so excited to see if his dreams came true of Santa bringing him all of the Avengers action figures that he had asked him for.  He was so excited to see that they had in fact came true.

After a relaxing Christmas morning we headed up to Park City to Cam and Torie's home to celebrate Chrismas with the Liljenquist.  We had a delicious dinner and some of us got to talk to Wendi and wish a very Merry Christmas.  We then opened gifts where Corbin got an Avengers race track and Emma got an America Girl Bitty Baby from Grandpa and Grandma Liz. Evan got dress ups that night and was so excited to wear them and share them with Corbin so they spent the rest of the evening as Iron Man and Captain America.  For dessert the kids got to decorate gingerbread cookies.
