Rupert, ID Baseball Tournament

The end of June we headed up to Rupert, Idaho for a baseball tournament.  Our coach is from Rupert so he was really excited to take our team up there to play.  After we signed up for it we found out it was really a 10u tournament so I was really hesitant to go.  Our boys had had a rough season, especially with tournaments so I wasn't thrilled about the decision to go.  While we were there they had the Boat Regatta going on so in-between games we went to the parade of the boats and got a TON of candy.  We had 3 games on Friday and lost all of them but scored a few points every game.  Some of the teams were very complimentery of our 8u team and said that they were impressed with how well our boys were playing.  Corbin got to pitch during one of the games.  He did pretty well but I'm okay that that is not his normal position.  It's way too stressful for me!
We came into Saturday in last place and it was now single elimination.  Our boys fought hard and ended up winning 7-5!  We were so proud of our boys.  Not only did we win a tournament game, which we have never done before, we beat a 10u team!  We then played the 1st seeded team and held them to only 4 runs until the 3rd inning when they scored 9 runs on us and ended up winning the game.
This tournament was the end of our season for baseball.  It's bittersweet that it is over but I'm ready for summer!
Rupert was and adventure to say the least for us. We were a little late booking a hotel to stay in so when we finally got around to it all of the "nice" hotels were already booked so Kyle found a Motel for us to stay in which was in a really great location.  Only 10 minutes away from the fields we played on.  While we were talking about the Motel Corbin said, "Mom we can NOT stay in a motel!  You know what motel means right?" "Um, no Corbin I don't know what it means." "It means crappy hotel!!"  We busted out laughing.  It defiantly was an adventure.  We got there and our room was not ready for us and they told us that the group before us stole the keys to our room so they didn't yet have a key for our room so every time we came back we had to stick our kids through the window to unlock our door for us to get in.  It will be a place that we will talk about for a long time!
Aside from the baseball we went to the Boat Regatta which was an experience.  It's like Nascar but on the water.  Those boats go so fast!
