More Baseball

This season has been quite a learning experience for all of us.  I've learned new things about my son that I didn't know until now.  A couple of Saturday's ago we had our normal double header.  Kyle and I had missed the first game because we had adult lunch with Craig and Liz and all of the adults before they were going to be leaving for Africa.  We had heard that Corbin had an amazing game and had gotten a couple of outs and had had some pretty great hits!  Going into the second game Corbin was on a total high and was pumped and ready for the next game.  He had 2 really great hits but they were both caught getting him out immediately and a really rough inning playing catcher where he made a couple of pretty big mistakes.  Watching him come in from that and sitting in the dug out with his head down feeling totally defeated was such a hard moment for me as his Mom.  It took everything in me not to go and grab him and make it all better for him but I knew I couldn't.  As the last inning started we were down 4-13.  It was our turn to bat and all of sudden all of our boys were hitting and then scoring.  As Corbin came up to bat I was really anxious for him knowing how he had been feeling up until this point.  He got a huge hit and got 2 runners in and made it to second base.  Immediately he was pumped back up.  As he ran into home the smile that he had made my Mommy heart so happy.  Our boys rallied and scored 12 runs in that inning and then got 3 outs immediately to win the game 16-13!  These boys fought so hard and came back on top and all of us were so proud of all of them!  By far the best game of the season!
