Corbin's Birthday

Corbin's birthday was quite a day.  Because of my Grandma passing away earlier in the week we had her funeral the same day as his birthday so the first half of the day was doing that.  He really struggled with it at first but we promised if he could be a big boy and do this that we would totally make it up to him.  After the funeral was over we made plans with our neighbors, the Dibbles, to go to a Bees game with them. Corbin and their little boy, Boston, have become such good little friends.  We first went to Chick-fil-a for dinner and then went down to the game.  We sat on the grass, which the kids loved.  The spent most of the game rolling down the little hill we were sitting on, eating snacks, and Kyle was even kind enough to go and wait in line to ride the little train they had going on.  By the end of the night Corbin's birthday went from, "the most boringest birthday ever" (his words) to the "best birthday ever!"  Which I was very grateful for.  We decided that we would invite the Grandparents over for dinner and cake and ice cream on Sunday.  I told him that he could pick his most favorite meal that Mommy makes and he picked chicken noodle soup and salad so that's what we had.  He also requested for me to make a teenage mutant ninja turtle cake.  I did my best.  I was really loving it till I added the black part but by that point I was kind of done and it didn't look awful so we just went with it.  It was fun to have the both grandparents there celebrating with us.  Corbin was most excited to show them all how he could ride his bike.  For his birthday he got a lacrosse stick, all 4 ninja turtles, some of our favorite books, Piggie and Gerald, and some gears.

I can't believe he is 5!! I love what he picked out for dinner. Sounds yummy. And I LOVE the turtle cake, super cute!

And I can totally relate to the black frosting feeling. I HATE working with black frosting, it gives me a lot of problems.

Our boys would be BFFS!! Seriously. They should play ninja turtles together someday. That was Jack's birthday request also, and their cakes were almost identical. :) Also-- you look so great for being 40 weeks along! I am hoping for you that this baby comes soon. Good luck!!
