Grandma Ruth Parrish

My sweet Grandma Parrish passed away on Tuesday, May 28th. When I received the phone call I was completely shocked mostly because we had just spent the day with her on Monday. While talking to my Mom she had told me that she was able to spend the whole weekend with different family members, so I would like to think that when she went to bed on Monday night her heart was full of happiness and love for her family.  There are many things I will remember about my Grandma. She was a very strong willed, hard working women. She would work out in her yard everyday whether it was sunny, raining, or if there was 2 feet of snow on the ground she was out there doing something. She always told us it was her gym and I fully believe that is why she stayed so healthy throughout her life. For the last few years her memory has really been gone so a lot of the time we spent with her was having the same conversation at least 5 times and reminding her who we were.  She knew we were her grandkids and that we were Neil's children but could never really remember our names.  A few months back she was at my parents house looking at the pictures on my Mom's wall and they were asking her who she knew and she didn't really know any of us except Kyle.  She couldn't remember her own grandkids but she could pick out Kyle and name him by name.  We would always joke around that Grandma had the hots for Kyle but that just proved it even more.

I'm so grateful that I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that she has been reunited with her husband after all these years of being alone and that we are going to get to see her again.

We love you Grandma and will miss you!

This picture was taken by my Uncle Ron the Saturday before she passed away.
