4th of July

We had a fun filled, busy 4th of July.  Our festivities began the evening of the 3rd at the concert in the park.  We all have such a good time hanging out while listening/dancing/singing to the music.  This year they had a magician come so Corbin and Kyle went up front and watched.  Ever since the Father and Sons campout that also had a magician at Corbin has been way into magic and magicians so he was totally into it all.  Kyle was even called up to help, which Corbin thought was totally awesome. That night once we got the kids to bed the adults all hung out talking and helping Jason and Alissa stuff and seal envelopes for their wedding invites.  We were having so much fun that we all stayed up till 1 AM.

The next morning we were all up bright early, at 6:30, for the Freedom 5K run. At the last second I was persuaded to run it this year.  That morning I was definitely regretting giving into peer pressure but once we got started and got halfway done I was feeling pretty good.  Kyle did great and ran it in 29:49 and I think I came in around 36 minutes.  Not too bad for not doing any training.  Plus, nobody puked!

After all the runners got cleaned up we went to the parade.  Corbin was so excited about the parade this year, mainly because he remembered that they throw candy at this parade.  Emma sat on Kyle's lap through the whole thing.  Didn't really care about it but I think she was just super tired from being up late and being up really early.

After the parade we went over to the carnival where the kids played some games, went to the fishing pond where Emma got a stuffed monkey that she immediately became attached to and now wants it whenever she goes to bed. And Corbin got a blue blow up guitar. We then went to my parents for some much needed naps. In the afternoon we headed up to Park City to Cam & Torie's house. Wendi was in town with her kids for Craig's wedding later that week so it was fun to spend some time with all of them. Unfortunately the fireworks in Park City were cancelled but we were able to watch a bunch of different fireworks throughout the valley as we drove home. Luckily Torie had some sparklers for the kids and they had fun with them.

Fun pictures! I LOVE the parade. I was so sad we missed it this year.
