Parrish Family FHE - Egg Roll
A few Saturdays ago we had our annual Egg Roll tied into our Quarterly FHE. The kids have really started getting into the whole thing and there were even tears shed (by Emma of course) when they discovered that their egg had been defeated. At the end Karli was the lucky winner and gets to keep the trophy for the year. Maybe next year we'll end up victorious!

Emma - Reading
A few weeks ago we had Emma's parent teacher conferences and her preschool teacher informed us that she is ready to start reading so I decided to pull out the good old BOB books and see what happens. She was so excited to sit down and have her turn reading with Daddy. We talked to her about how each letter makes it own sound but when letters are together their sounds get put together and form words. She picked it up so fast. When she finished the book she had the biggest smile on her face and we told her how proud of her we were! I'm so excited to have another little reader in our house.
Emma - Cartwheels
I have been so incredibly impressed with Emma lately. She has put her mind on things and is determined to do it. A few of her friends are signed up for tumbling and have been showing her all of their tricks that they have been learning and Emma wants to do the exact same things that she has taught herself to do a cartwheel. It's taken her a bunch of times but she has finally started landing them on her feet and not her bum. She's also taught herself to do a back arch and get her head off of the ground. I'm so proud of her determination and her desire to not quit.
