As I have had kids I have started wondering what is genetic and what is just part of their gene build up. The whole nurture vs nature kind of thing. My children's love for popcorn is a prime example of that. Is it something we have done or is it in their gene build up? Kyle and his family love popcorn. I like popcorn but I feel like not quite to the degree that his family does. His older brother Cameron used to go to a movie theater, buy a tub of popcorn and walk out. Bode has joined right in with them. He's gotten to the point now that if he doesn't have his very own bowl to eat out of he cries. So is it in their genetic build up or is it something that we have thought them? Who knows. I just know that my kids love popcorn!

Skiing
Corbin has improved so much this year with skiing. Kyle was finally able to let go a little bit and let Corbin do it on his own and we are so proud of how far he has come. I was able to go up skiing with them one day at Deer Valley. The weather wasn't ideal but he powered through it like a champ. He even did his very first powder run. We didn't know that there was powder when we started the run but the further down we got the worse it got. He freaked out a couple of times but he just took it a turn at a time and made it down the hill all by himself! He especially loved that he got to ski with his cousin Evan the rest of the day. We are so proud of the little skier that he has become.
Annual Egg Roll
On Conference weekend the Parrish family got together on Saturday for our Annual Egg Roll. The kids were so excited and really got into decorating their eggs. They seemed all really into breaking each others eggs at the beginning. Once Emma caught on to what was really happening she did not want to participate and get her egg broken. Like good parents we made her do it and she her egg broke that same round so she could move past that drama. Macey won this year and because Kyle won last year he got to pass the trophy on to her. Corbin has already started talking about how he's going to decorate his egg next year so he can win the trophy. After the egg roll we sat down and listened to the second session of Conference.
New Discoveries
With learning how to do the stairs comes a whole new adventure. I get a little nervous with him being down there without any carpet and lots of little things but he just loves it down there especially when Corbin takes him for rides on the swivel cars. I really love watching him explore and discover new things. I also really love watching Emma and Corbin be such a good big brother and sister.
New Trick
Last week Bode learned how to go down the stairs all by himself. After falling down the stairs twice he had zero interest even going near them but when the kids go downstairs he wants to go down so bad so I just started working with him showing him how he goes down. The first couple times he screamed all the way down but once he finally understood what we were doing he picked up pretty fast. It still makes me squeamish when he goes down them and I make sure either me or one of the kids is with him all the way down but he does a pretty good job doing them all by himself.
